It all goes back to a log cabin tucked behind 12 acres in Evergreen, Colorado. There wasn’t a project in its renovation we didn’t do ourselves. We built-in bookshelves, tiled, demolished, and even set the jacuzzi tub in the master bath, jackhammered a driveway curb in the dead of winter and created a levy system to get the granite in the kitchen. It was everything from the plumbing to the polyurethane – the work of my dad’s life and the start to mine.
Growing up, I'd sit in my room for hours creating, whether it was a scrapbook, barbies, or rearranging and re-organizing. I remember regularly begging my parents to organize their closets or paint my bedroom new colors. A special memory my grandma shared time and time again was the time I disappeared for hours to later invite her to the previously abandoned porch for a tea party at the 'The Purple Cafe'. I waited on her all afternoon, and we enjoyed the beautifully transformed space.
Despite dreaming of a life in a creative field, I chose to major in finance at the University of Colorado out of practicality. I worked tirelessly to excel in not only school but as a member of the cheer team and my sorority's executive board. My most proud accomplishments at Boulder include our 2nd place nationals achievement and pulling my sorority out of dead last to ultimately win both greek week and songfest senior year. To cap it off, I left with my dream job in my dream city, but not without an entire year of applications, thousands of interviews and almost entirely all rejections.
The past decade in Chicago, my career and community flourished beyond my wildest dreams. I learned optimism, determination and grit are what set me apart, my genuine heart and creative mind is what I'm so moved to share, and that helping (or hyping up) friends and family with their homes and major life events is the greatest gift I can give.
Whether it's through my services or my stories, I hope to show you the beauty right before us and all the light we cannot always see. This is..
